Morges Tulip Festival (1)
Every spring, the Morges Tulip Festival is held in the Parc de l’Indépendance, in the Swiss town of Morges on the shores of Lake Geneva. Admission to the six-week festival, which displays around 100,000 tulips, is free. The vast variety of flower beds, with some 300 kinds of tulips, is a magnet for tulip lovers and illustrates the plant’s wide range of shapes and colours. The first varieties bloom from mid-April, attracting families to take their first trip of the year to the lakeside. Over festival weekends, the pavilion is the scene of regular musical performances with drinks and snacks also on tap.
