Keukenhof (2)

Water Lily Crash

The Keukenhof Flower Garden was established in 1949 by the then mayor of Lisse, W.J.H. Lambooy and numerous flower bulb and tulip cultivators who were keen to exhibit their hybrids. The intention was to boost the Dutch export industry and this has proved a resounding success: The Netherlands is now the world’s largest exporter of flowers. Keukenhof is well worth a visit and not only for flower fans. It is open every year from around mid-March to mid-May.
